AMARILLO, TEXAS -- It's a coast to coast first for the good old USA.
Ford's first totally electric car is making its way from New York City to Los Angeles.
And on Wednesday, the car and its crew made a pit stop in Amarillo.
The car is sponsored by mens health magazine, and it can only travel a couple of hours on a single charge, but even so, its people say it may actually change the way we take road trips in the future.
They believe, by slowing things down and making frequent stops, it creates a whole different experience getting out on the road again.
"We're driving this as a way of showing people they can have a better, healthier road trip experience, because they're slowing down the pace, they're not racing down the highway @ 85 miles an hour getting from A to B and sitting in a car for 8, 10, 12 hours at a time," according to Men's Health Senior Editor, Eric Adams.
The electric car crew hopes to be in Los Angeles in time for Earth Day on Saturday.
