Borger ConocoPhillips employee dies after falling

BORGER, TEXAS -- After falling, a ConocoPhillips employee was killed Monday afternoon.

Janet Grothe, with the The Phillips 66 company, said the employee fell at about 3 p.m., at the Borger refinery.

He was transported to the Golden Plains Community Hospital in Borger where he died, officials said.

"ConocoPhillips deeply regrets the loss of our employee and wishes to extend sympathy to the employee's family, friends and co-workers," Phillips 66 said in a statement.

Officials with the company said the incident remains under investigation.
