Dalhart ISD employee accused of educator misconduct

DALHART, TEXAS -- The Dalhart Independent School District (DISD) is continuing its investigation into allegations of educator misconduct by one of its employees.

The employee was placed on paid administrative leave after an preliminary investigation was launched, the district said. DISD said it frist informed about the allegations around the first of May.

Dalhart Police said it has already launched and closed an investigation. The investigation, according to police, found there was no offense.

Superintendent David Foote said the employee has not returned back to work because the district must first conclude its own investigation, according to policy.

"Because of privacy issues regarding both students and personnel, the District will not comment on on the details of the allegations or the ongoing investigation," Foote said in a release. "Please be assured that the District has taken appropriate interim steps to ensure student safety during the pendency of this matter."
