$350,000 in marijuana seized on I-40 in Amarillo

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- $350,000 in marijuana was seized during a traffic stop on Interstate 40 Saturday evening, police said.

According to police, an officer conducted a traffic stop at 3401 I-40 west when the driver became nervous. Police were granted permission from the driver to search the vehicle.

Police said 11 large bundles of marijuana were found in the vehicle's trunk. The marijuana weighed 275 pounds and had a street value of $350,000, police said.

Kandy Sellers-Lopez, 56, of Deming, N.M., was arrested for Possession of Marijuana Over 50 pounds and Under 2,000 pounds, a second degree felony.

Police said her destination is unknown.
