AMARILLO, TEXAS -- That big party known as Homer's Backyard Ball is back starting Saturday morning at 11am.

In 2000, it teamed up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and since then the ball has helped grant the wishes of more than a hundred kids.

This year, it hopes to do even more.

Travis Homer, the CEO of The Homer's Backyard Ball Foundation, hopes close to 5,000 people will attend the event.

There will be eight bands, many from Texas, and a cook-off.

This year’s headliner is Cody Canada and the Departed. Other bands include: Tejas Brothers, The Dirty River Boys, Casey Berry and the Live Texas Mosquitos, Tommy Gallagher Band, Gary P. Nunn, Cruise Duke, No Dry County, and the Texas Heat.

Homer’s Backyard Ball is in its’ 15th year, and is the Panhandle’s biggest fundraiser for the Make-a-Wish foundation.

The event is BYOB (no glass containers), and camping will be available for those who don’t want to drive home.

For more information, check out Homer’s Backyard Ball on Facebook, or go to www.homersbackyardball.com.

The gate opens at 11am and tickets are $25. It takes place at I-40 and Whitaker; between exits 73 and 74.
