FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - Two people are dead and two others wounded after a drive-by shooting in Fort Worth. Authorities say a man and a woman were killed and two passengers in their car were injured last night when gunfire erupted on Interstate 35W. A fifth person in the vehicle escaped injury.
BULLARD, Texas (AP) - A 91-year-old World War II veteran has gotten his nearly dozen military medals restored. Lloyd Wells lost everything last September when a wildfire burned down his home in northeast Texas. Congressman Louis Gohmert presented the Bronze Star and other medals to Wells during a weekend ceremony in Bullard.
EL PASO, Texas (AP) - El Paso authorities are asking residents to voluntarily limit water use for the next two weeks to try to prevent mandatory restrictions. Officials say the lack of water in the Rio Grande and forecasts of high temperatures are prompting the calls for water conservation. The Rio Grande accounts for half of the city's water supply.
ONEIDA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A plan from a Texas-based wind farm company would build more than 60 wind turbines in Michigan. The Lansing State Journal reports the planning commission in Oneida Township, Mich., has scheduled a hearing for next month related to the project. Houston-based Horizon Wing Energy has proposed the turbines.
