Dumas man sentenced to 20 years for possessing cocaine

DUMAS, TEXAS -- A Moore County man was sentenced to 20 years in a state prison after pleading guilty to drug charges.

He was also ordered to pay a $1,500 fine.

According to the 69th District Attorney's office, in 2005, approximately 63 grams of cocaine were found to be in the possession of Jorge Lucio. He entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to 10 years probation along with a fine and restitution.

On February 8, 2012, the Moore County Sheriff's Office found more than 100 grams of cocaine was found in Lucio's home in Dumas, District Attorney David Green said. According to him, evidence in the investigation also showed that Lucio was selling cocaine.

Lucio was indicted and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver, a first degree felony.

Now 48 years old, Lucio entered a plea of "true" to the allegations of him violating his probation for the first charge. He also entered a guilty plea to the second charge from February 2012, the DA's office said.

After a plea bargain, he was sentenced to 20 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice - Institutional Division. He must also pay a $1,500 fine.
