Gas prices continue to trickle across the state of Texas and Amarillo is home, once again, to the lowest prices in the state.

That according to AAA Texas and its weekly retail gasoline prices survey of metro cities.

Last week's gas price average for Amarillo was listed at $3.43 per gallon. This week's average is $3.41.

Amarillo was listed as the city with the most expensive gasoline several times last year. Already in 2012, Amarillo has had the least expensive gas numerous times.

At this time last year, AAA Texas reported Amarillo's average price for gas at $3.62 per gallon.

Texas' average declined by a nickel last week to $3.51 per gallon. The average price of gasoline in Texas last year at this time was at $3.75 per gallon.

The most expensive gas in the state can be found in El Paso at $3.65 per gallon.

As for a national average, it sits at $3.68 per hallon. That's down from $3.84 at the same time last year.
