FULL ELECTION RESULTS

In a primary race that seemed like was never going to happen, people from across the Lone Star State barely made it to the polls to cast their votes.

Just 2.3 million people cast their ballots by voting early before Tuesday's elections. Though higher than in 2010, it was still short of 2008's huge turnout. Of course, that election involved both the Republican and Democratic presidential nominations.

"Voting in the primary is very important, especially at a county level," Teel Bivins Professor of Political Science Dr. Dave Rausch said.  "Constable races here in Randall County and in Potter County, as well as commissioner candidates..."

Across Amarillo, precincts seemed bare, according to some voters.  Voter turnout across both Potter and Randall Counties remained low, officials said.

Some say the reason for the low turnout may have been because election day was after the long Memorial Day weekend.
