AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A North Amarillo home was destroyed by a fire Tuesday evening, fire officials said.
One person, who occupied the home, was injured.The injuries were minor and did not require a transport to the hospital, officials said.
Firefighters were called to the 900 block of South Milam at 6:49 p.m., Tuesday. The fire was declared under control by 7:05.
Authorities said the building was either a one or two family dwelling.
Officials said the fire started in a cooking area. It was determined to have been an accidental cooking fire.
Estimated property loss was $78,000, officials said. The building was valued at $88,000.
