President Barack Obama has proclaimed June as Great Outdoors Month and encourages everyone to share in the natural splendor of the National Parks. Govenor Rick Perry even said, "The month of June is dedicated to promoting awareness of the great outdoors. We must take time to recognize the rugged majesty of the Lone Star State and teach young Texans all the benefits of spending time in nature."

The National Park Service will have four more fee free days in 2012.
