McALLEN, Texas (AP) - Police say one of two boys shot in a South Texas hotel room is still alive and on life support.

Laredo police spokesman Joe Baeza had said earlier Tuesday that an infant and toddler both were killed in Tuesday's shooting at the Holiday Inn-Civic Center. The department now says one of the boys remains on life support.

Police went to the hotel around midday after receiving a call suggesting the children and their mother could be in trouble. After knocking on the hotel room door and identifying themselves as police, officers heard several immediate shots. Some were through the door.

Baeza says officers entered the room and arrested a man inside. Officers are still looking for the children's mother.
