AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Summer is here and Coffee Memorial Blood Center (CMBC) says donations are down.

The blood center said it has a critical need for O- and A- blood types. Additionally, it has an immediate need for all other blood types except AB.

It's because of summer traveling that donations are down, officials said. Although donations are down, the need for blood continues to rise, mostly because of increased outdoor activities and travel accidents.

CMBC is asking residents to visit its location at 7500 Wallace Boulevard to make a blood donation.
