CLOVIS, N.M. -- The man who burglarized and damaged four Clovis businesses was sentenced to seven years in prison, Ninth Judicial Attorney Matthew Chandler announced Thursday afternoon.

35-year-old Aldred Sena must also serve four years of intensively supervised probation following the seven years in the New Mexico State Penitentiary, Chandler said.

Sena pled guilty to burglarizing the four businesses.

Authorities said the first business burglarized was Sport's Zone in July 2010. Police had received a tip he was selling stolen items from the store at a nearby gas station.

The second business burglarized was Osburn Tire in November 2010. In January 2012, while awaiting trial on the previous burglaries, McDonald's in east Clovis was burglarized.

Each time after the first two businesses were burglarized, authorities said his bond had been lowered.

Police said the money box for the Ronald McDonald charity was stolen.

Also in January 2012, police said Furrow's Home Lumber was burglarized. Surveillance footage led them to arrested Sena, police said.

"Each time the courts lowered Sena's bond, he used it as an opportunity to victimize more local businesses and store owners," Assistant District Attorney Jared Morris said. "Sena admitted at the sentencing that his burglaries were driven by a drug addiction, which certainly compounded his problems. After consulting closely with the store owners and police, we felt that seven years in prison was an appropriate sentence for Sena's actions."
