AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Amarillo Police Department Special Crimes is investigating a suspicious death in North Amarillo from Tuesday evening.
Police were dispatched to the 300 block of North Lamar on Tuesday evening on the report of a possible assault. According to police, initial reports indicated one person was possibly armed with a baseball bat.
Upon arrival, police said two men were performing CPR on 45-year-old Richard Steven Fisher. He was in the front yard, police said.
Fisher was transported to a local hospital where he later died, police said.
An autopsy was performed in Lubbock on Wednesday and police said because of the circumstances of the death, Special Crimes is now investigating.
