AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Early voting kicked off in both Potter and Randall counties on Monday of this week, but the turnout for Randall County was anything but average.

In 2012, Randall County saw 871 voters for early voting throughout the entire week for this election that year. But in just two days of early voting this year, more than 1,350 voters had cast their ballets in Randall County! Officials said the high voter turnout could be because of a numbers of reasons: the two local races in the county, or a reflection of how hard the candidates campaigned this year.

"The candidates have campaigned hard," said Randall County Clerk Renee Calhoun. "These are important offices and I think the voters are wanting to express their opinion on who gets elected to those offices."

Potter County early voters were fairly average early on in the week, officials said. It saw about 200 early voters in person each day.

Early voting will continue through Friday, July 27. It will last from 7:00 a.m. To 7:00 p.m. each day. To find out where to vote in Randall County, click here. To find out where to vote in Potter County, click here.
