AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A 30-year-old Amarillo man was killed early Saturday morning when police said the vehicle he was in lost control and hit a guard rail on Interstate 27.
Police said alcohol and speed are both factors in the crash.
According to police, a 2008 Cadillac STS was traveling northbound in the 2800 block of I-27 on Saturday at about 2 a.m, when it lost control and hit a guard rail.
The vehicle went over the guard rail and then rolled down the embankment, police said.
Thirty-year-old Dustin Michael Entrekin of Amarillo was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. An autopsy was ordered by a Justice of the Peace
Clinton Beau Bierman, 27, of Amarillo was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Police said they are still working to determine who was driving the car.
