ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Albuquerque police say they will release videos that show how officers used stun guns to subdue suspects. The videos to be released tomorrow were recorded by cameras officers wear on their lapels. Three Albuquerque police officers are the subject of internal affairs and criminal investigations into stun gun use during two different cases on May 31.
SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - A former Santa Fe church volunteer faces a new indictment charging him with sexually abusing a child. Thirty-six-year-old Anthony Martinez pleaded guilty last year to another charge of having sexual contact with a minor. The Santa Fe New Mexican reports he volunteered at Santa Fe's Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Community. His sentencing in the earlier charges has been delayed.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Albuquerque police say they've received thousands of calls to a special tip line seeking clues to the 2009 West Mesa serial killings. KRQE-TV reports that police are investigating all of the tips, but say some are from people who merely want to get family members, ex-boyfriends or bosses in trouble. So far, none of the calls have been linked to a crime.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Starting next month, the cost of admission to Albuquerque's Biological Park will increase. Mayor Richard Berry says adult tickets to the park containing the city's zoo, aquarium and botanical gardens will go from $7 to $10. The Albuquerque Journal reports the higher ticket prices will help pay for an $18 million backlog in repairs and maintenance.
