LIPSCOMB COUNTY, TEXAS -- Two men were killed Friday evening in a head-on collision on US 83 in Lipscomb County.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) said a 1999 Dodge Ram, traveling southbound on US 83 near State Highway 23, crossed the center stripe and hit a 2007 Ford F-150 pickup.
Driving the Dodge was 29-year-old Zachery Glenn of Yale, Okla, and the Ford pickup was driven by 59-year-old Jose Aleman, Jr., of Victoria Texas.
DPS said the Dodge pickup was on the wrong side of the road not passing when it struck the Ford pickup that was traveling northbound.
The Dodge came to rest upside down in the ditch. The Ford came to rest upside and was burned during the crash, DPS said.
Seat belts were not worn in the Dodge but they were in use in the Ford, police said.
