Police in Amarillo are still investigating a weekend shooting that left a teenage girl in life threatening condition.

Amarillo Police officers were called to a parking lot at the 3600 block of 24th Street early Sunday morning on a report that a shooting had taken place. Police found a 15-year-old girl shot in the abdomen. The gunshot victim had been shot at a different location.

She was taken to the hospital where she remains in serious condition.

Police were able to get witnesses to tell them that the shooting occurred at the 1600 block of Iris.

Officers already had been dispatched to the Iris location and found another gathering of juveniles having a fight and possible gunfire. Officers did find evidence of gunfire.

Witnesses said there was a second person stabbed and had fled the scene, but has not been found.

Police say they have interviewed about 20 witnesses but have made no arrests. Anyone who has information on this incident is asked to call the Amarillo Police Dept. at 378-3038.
