OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The remnants of Isaac have brought some rain and wind to parts of eastern Oklahoma, but the tropical system's effects on the area have been relatively light. A National Weather Service meteorologist says the heaviest rain in Oklahoma from Isaac fell in far northeastern sections of the state this morning.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin apparently can't get enough of political conventions, and is planning to head to North Carolina next week for the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte. A Fallin spokesman says today the Republican governor will be doing surrogate campaign work for the campaign of GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney. Fallin spoke to Republican National Convention Tuesday night in Tampa, Florida.
WAGONER, Okla. (AP) - The defeated incumbent Wagoner County court clerk has paid $600 for a recount of votes in Tuesday's election that initial returns show she lost by 28 percentage points. Court Clerk Rhonda Vincent was defeated by Jim Hight by a margin of 1,159-645 - or 64 percent to 36 percent. The recount is scheduled for 9 a.m. September 7th at the Wagoner County Courthouse.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma City police say a man has died after he was stabbed during a home invasion early this morning. Police say officers received a report around 3:30 a.m. today of a home burglary in southwest Oklahoma City. Authorities say a man fled on foot after officers arrived, but he was eventually arrested about a block away.
