CANYON, TEXAS -- The eastbound bridge from US 60 to northbound US 87 in Canyon will be replaced starting today, police said.

It's expected to last about 55-60 days and could cause traffic to become congested.

Police said temporary traffic signals will be installed at the bottom of the ramp.

Motorists traveling eastbound on US 60 will be able to get on northbound US 87 through and opening in the concrete barrier.

Traffic on northbound US 87 needing to access westbound US 60 will be required to continue northbound on US 86 and exit Hunsley Road. Traffic will be required to go over the overpass and take the service road southbound to the US 87 ramp.

Police said access to westbound US 60 will take the Hereford exit.

Motorists are suggested to find an alternate route during the 55-60 days the project is ongoing, police said.

Canyon Police will be monitoring traffic in the area.
