AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A 23-year-old Lubbock man was robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of a motel on East Interstate 40 Wednesday morning, police said.

Police said the victim told officers he parked his vehicle in the back parking lot of the motel, located in the 3200 block of I-40 East at about 9 a.m. He told police he was there to meet a friend and when he got out of his vehicle he was confronted by three suspects.

Police said two of the suspects were Hispanic and one was a white male. No other description was available. All were armed with handguns, police said.

The man took the victim's belt, wallet and shoes, police said. They also took his black 2003 Chevrolet pickup with 20 inch rims, police added.

Police said the suspects drove the stolen pickup and their vehicle, a grey Chevrolet Tahoe.

No one was injured.
