AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Fall is officially in the air and many seasonal festivities are right around the corner. One being Maxwell’s Annual Pumpkin Farm.
Maxwell’s officially opened on Saturday, September 22, and with this year’s new additions crowds have been pouring in all weekend.
The new additions include, new animals in the small petting zoo, new food choices and corn maze obstacle changes.
"It's just all about fun, we got lots of fun games for kids and boy they can just spend the whole day out here,” said Owner, Larry Borger.
The farm has been providing entertainment for five years and is now attracting people near and far. One family traveled Lubbock to enjoy the farm festivities.
Their daughter, Abri Elguin stated the travel was worth it, "To go to the pumpkin patch and have fun!"
Animal Keeper Deborah Glovier came back for second year of festivities because she thoroughly enjoyed all the children. "We enjoy the kids getting tickled within all the different animals. They enjoy petting the ducks and the pig and they have a good time,” she said.
Maxwell’s goal is to provide a fun and interactive area for families to enjoy. All activities are outdoors and are set up in a safe environment for children to have fun and learn a little more about agriculture.
"Of course the kids on the field trips they actually get to see the pumpkins on the vine, how they grow on the field so we talk about that. When we plant them, how we water them and all that stuff and how we cut the design in our maze and so really it's a neat deal for kids,” said Larry Borger.
The pumpkin patch is only open for six weeks out of the year. Click here http://www.maxwellspumpkinfarm.com/ to find out more.
