NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag fire warning for the western half of Oklahoma and says the fire danger is critical.

The warning has been issued for 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday.

The warning area extends westward from just east of Oklahoma City to the Texas state line and from the Kansas state line to the north to the Oklahoma-Texas border to the south.

The weather service says afternoon temperatures will be in the low to mid-90s with the humidity as low as about 15 percent. Southwesterly winds of 20 to 25 miles per hour are forecast with gusts up to 35 to 40 miles per hour.

Much of the area is also under a burn ban issued by Gov. Mary Fallin.
