Grand Jury indicts Amarillo man on animal cruelty, torture

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Lubbock County grand jurors indicted Juan Chavira, 30, on a charge of animal cruelty with a torture enhancement.

Chavira was arrested after witnesses complained of a a dog whimpering in the truck of Chavira's car on Aug. 19.

The felony warrant stated that Chavira is suspected of cutting the dog's ears with scissors and then attempted to sew them back on top of the dog's head.
