AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A benefit bash Sunday night was hosted at Joe Daddy's as part of Dine United.
Dine United is one month in which local restaurants donate a portion of their sales to the organization.
Opening their door Saturday night was Joe Daddy's for a benefit bash.
"This event is to raise money and awareness," said Donna Soria. "It's United Way campaign time so this is Dine United, and area restaurants come together and give us a percentage of their sales."
Joe Daddy's, Post A Shirt and Pronews 7, welcomed the community for a night out with great music and food.
"We're just providing the location, letting people get out, support the community and check out our new location," said Colby Monroe Partner/Joe Daddy's. "Fifteen percent of our proceeds tonight will go to United Way because we're also allowing people to go inside and dine and check out new menu."
The organization helps people and other organizations as they focus on education, low income families and health issues.
"We specifically choose United Way because they seem to be a great funnel for so many other nonprofits in our area," said Joshua Mezel Partner/Post A Shirt.
The goal for this year's campaign is 6 million dollars in which, according to United Way officials, plays a huge role.
"I think the reason we're such a shining United Way among all United Way's is because of the people," said Soria. "it's the Panhandle people, it's the people in Amarillo and Canyon that make us shine, they care so much."
Those who attend enjoyed live music from Marc Scibilia, Angel Snow and Natile Schlabs, and also a silent auction.
