AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Police are investigating an evening robbery at a Family Dollar store late last week.

According to police, the suspect walked into the Family Dollar in the 400 block of Amarillo Boulevard West on Friday evening at about 9:15 and while making a purchase he demanded money.

He placed his hand inside his pocket indicating he had a weapon, police said. He then reached over and grabbed an undetermined amount of cash from the register, police said.

The suspect, described as 5'5" and 200 pounds with a brown jacket, blue jeans and a brown ball cap, was last seen running northbound on North Jackson Street.

No injuries were reported, police said.
