AMARILLO, TEXAS -- An elderly man was killed on Tuesday in a one-vehicle rollover west of Amarillo.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said a white Lincoln Navigator was traveling westbound on Interstate-40 near Arnot Road when the crash happened.

DPS said the vehicle was traveling in the outside lane and was attempting to get in the inside lane when it overcorrected and rolled.

The elderly man, who is not yet being identified, died at the scene. An elderly woman was air lifted to Northwest Texas Hospital.

Traffic in the area was backed up for more than a mile. It was being rerouted onto the access roads.
