Amarillo gas prices continue downward trend

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Great news! Gas prices are continuing to trickle down in Amarillo.

This week's average retail price of gasoline is $3.29, according to AAA Texas' weekly gasoline survey of Texas metro cities. That's down five cents compared to last week when the price was $3.34.

Compared to last year at the same time, the average price of gasoline is the exact same. Just a month ago, gas prices were sharply higher at $3.59 per gallon.

As for the statewide average, the average gas price also continued to slide. In the last week, the price fell seven cents to land at $3.23 per gallon. On the nationwide scale, gas prices declined a nickel to $3.46 per gallon.

The most expensive gas in Texas, according to the survey, can be found in El Paso at $3.38 per gallon, The cheapest gas is in Beaumont at $3.14 per gallon.
