AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Celebrating 25 years of helping Panhandle residents living with HIV and AIDS, the Panhandle AIDS Support Organization (PASO) is preparing for its biggest fundraiser of the year.

The event, called Turnabout, is a Panhandle favorite. It's on Saturday evening and the doors open at 6:30.

"It's just a good ol' time," PASO Executive Director Michael Timcisko said. "We just have a really good time with Turnabout and people remember it. It's a memorable experience and once they come they want to come back."

It's that memorable experience that helps hundreds of people in the Texas Panhandle living with HIV and AIDS. Timcisko said PASO help more than 200 Panhandle residents with medical expenses and other needs that may arise.

It is estimated, according to PASO, that the Texas Panhandle is home to about 2,500 people living with HIV.

"We provide services and individuals that are have either HIV or have a diagnosis of AIDS," he said.

Timcisko said PASO hopes to raise more than $40,000 during the event. This year, the event has a country western theme, 'Grand Ole PASO Too.'

"We decided to bring back a county western theme this year," Timcisko said. "It was one of our most successful themes many years ago. It's quite a fun show."

To purchase tickets to the event, call the PASO office at (806) 372-1050.
