AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Amarillo residents will now have to keep pharmacy hours in mind when looking to fill prescriptions.

The Walgreen's at 34th and Bell, the only operating 24 hour pharmacy in Amarillo, has temporarily changed its hours. Until further notice, the Amarillo location will no longer be open 24 hours. Their new business hours are 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

In an official comment from Walgreen's, they assured that the change is only temporary as they look to hire a new overnight pharmacist. They wish to continue to serve the Amarillo community by hiring a new pharmacist as soon as possible.

What does this change mean for the people of Amarillo? Residents should be prepared in the case this temporary change is longer than expected. King's Pharmacy, a smaller business around Amarillo, serves its customers on a one-on-one basis, so each patient's individual needs are met. King's, and other small businesses like it, are also available to those looking to drop off or pick up a prescription.

If you are looking to fill a prescription, be sure to check the operating hours of your local pharmacy.
