Suspect sought in afternoon robbery

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Amarillo police responded to an armed robbery Monday afternoon at Toot'N Totum at 2615 S. Grand.

The robbery occurred at about 1:00 p.m. A store employee told police that a women entered the store, unzipped her jacket to reveal a pistol and demanded everything in the register, police said

The employee gave the suspect all of the money in one register. Upon doing so the suspect then asked the employee for the contents of another register. The employee gave the suspect the money and the suspect fled on foot, police said.

The suspect was last seen heading west from the store crossing S. Grand Street, police said.

The suspect was described as a five foot five, white or hispanic women in her 20s or 30s. The suspect was wearing a pink knit cap, sunglasses, a dark colored coat with a light colored design on the upper chest and blue pants.

No injuries were reported, police said.
