AMARILLO, TEXAS -- An Amarillo man was arrested Monday evening after police responded to an aggravated assault call.

Donald Douglas Ditto, 68, was booked into the Randall County Jail Monday after a man accused him of shooting him in the 2200 block of S. Bell, according to a news release.

The victim, a 21-year-old Amarillo man reported to police that Ditto had shot at him after a road rage altercation.

According to the victim Ditto shot at him when he stopped at Everette and Bell and waited for the man to pass. Ditto stopped behind him, exited his vehicle with a handgun and shot at the victim, police said.

Ditto got back into his vehicle and drove away, police said.

The victim then followed Ditto to a residence in the 5900 block of Amberwood and phoned police.

Police responded to the call and found Ditto, who matched the given description in the residence along with a .357 caliber revolver, police said.
