AMARILLO, TEXAS -- At approximately 10:30 a.m. a man entered a United Supermarket in the 5600 block of Amarillo Boulevard West, took some merchandise and exited the building without paying for them, according to a news release from the Amarillo Police Department.
A female employee confronted the suspect at which point the suspect pulled out a pistol, pointed it at the employee and proceeded to get into a red Dodge Stratus.
APD responded to the scene while field officers on patrol observed the vehicle at a nearby motel parking lot.
The suspect was located at the Deluxe Inn in the 600 block of Amarillo Boulevard West, APD said.
The suspect was identified as Patrick Eugene Coleman, 41. Coleman was booked into the Potter County Correction Center for aggravated Robbery.
