AMARILLO, TEXAS -- At about 10:30 Tuesday night Amarillo Police responded to an armed robbery call at Toot'N Totum in the 4200 Block of South West 34th Street, according to a news release from Amarillo Police Department.

A female employee was working when the robbery occurred. She told authorities that she had walked out a room in the store when two men approached her.

One of the men demanded that she give them the money in the cash register and struck her in the face. The employee went to the register and opened the drawer.

The other suspect was holding a gun as the first intruder took the money from the register. The man also grabbed several packages of cigarettes, the employee told police.

Both men fled from the store on foot and were last seen running West across Eddy Street.

The suspects are described as white males. One was 5'9" to 6 feet tall wearing a camouflage jacket and gloves. The second man was shorter and was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, black pants and gloves.

Authorities are still investigating the robbery and are asking anyone with information on the robbery to call APD or Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 374-4400. All Crime Stoppers callers will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
