Troopers for the Texas Department of Public Safety on January 19, served an arrest warrant for a man on child pornography charges and booked him into the Gray County Jail.

According to Lieutenant Terry Cox of the Gray County Sheriff's office, troopers arrested and booked Juan Garcia Perez, 44, after an investigation led them to his home and found items of child pornography.

"The troopers did not ask for our assistance, made the arrest in the city limits and showed up at the salle-port to book in the suspect." Cox said.

Cox said Perez was booked in lieu of a $25,000 bond. Perez was release on a bond on the 19th.

Perez facing charges of possesion of child pornography charges, a third-degree felony, may serve a sentence of two to ten years in a state prison and/or a fine of no more than $10,000.

DPS authorities are refraining from commenting pending further investigations.
