DUMAS, TEXAS -- The Superintendent of Dumas Independent Schools has confirmed that a fourth grader had brought an unloaded gun to school.
The student brought the gun to school in his backpack. The child then showed the weapon to a classmate who alerted school staff.
School officials are working on the situation by following school protocol.
Dumas Police Department were notified of the situation.
