United Supermarkets is issuing a voluntary recall on 13 of it's products due to a possible food safety issue with steamed chicken provided by a single provider.

The company says here has been no evidence of any foodborne illness resulting from the products so far, but the company is being proactive as a precaution.

"We are issuing this recall with an abundance of caution, as testing of the product in our supply chain has not revealed evidence of undercooked chicken apart from an initial report. However, because we are committed to providing the best service and safest products for our guests, we feel this action is warranted," said Chris St. Clair, Executive Vice President of Information and Logistics for United Supermarkets, LLC.

The products in question would have been available for purchase at an United Supermarkets, Market Street or Amigos location between Monday and Friday of this week (jan. 28th - Feb.1st). They would bear a United, Market Street or Amigos label and generally have a four-day shelf life.

Products Affected:
Chicken Enchilada Dip, Hot Buffalo Chicken Dip, Santa Barbara Lite Chicken Salad, Classic Lite Chicken Salad, Classic Chicken Salad, Green Chile Chicken Enchiladas, Green Chile Chicken Quesadillas, Creamy Chicken Enchiladas, Cranberry Walnut Chicken Salad, Basil Parmesan Chicken Salad, Artichoke Chicken Salad, Grape Chicken Salad, Apricot Walnut Chicken Salad.

If you have purchased any of these products this week return the product for a full refund or a replacement product. For more information, click here.
