Amarillo police investigate fatal car wreck

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Amarillo police responded to a wreck at the intersection of southwest 41st Street and south Washington Street Sunday night.

Upon arrival police found that a silver Chrysler PT Cruiser was struck by a black Jeep Cherokee.

According to a news release from Amarillo Police Department, the Jeep struck the driver's side of the of the PT Cruiser and continued on until it smashed into a house in the 4100 block of south Washington.

Monte Hollabaugh, 52, was removed by witnesses and was given CPR until emergency responders arrived at the scene. Hollabaugh died at the scene of the crash.

Yolanda Scott, 17, was driving the Jeep with two young passengers at the time of the crash. Scott and her passengers were transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Traffic Investigation Squad is currently investigating the crash.
