OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Improving Oklahoma's bridges and turnpikes and building new weigh stations are a transportation group's top legislative goals for 2013.

The group known as Transportation Revenues Used Strictly For Transportation is dedicated to funding and restoring Oklahoma's infrastructure. Unlike the past several years, the state is not expected to enter next year with a budget deficit.

The organization's leaders say advancing transportation funding should be a key priority of state government. Among the group's priorities is protecting funding for the eight-year highway and bridge construction plan currently under way by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

The agenda also includes redirecting motor vehicle generated fees to state, county and municipal transportation needs, an alternative transportation funding plan, long-term reauthorization of federal surface transportation programs and support of the Indian Reservation Roads Program.
