APD: Help needed to locate endangered teen

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- UPDATE:  Alicia Velasquez was found in Georgia. According to a news release from Amarillo Police Department, Investigator High received a call from a Kentucky woman regarding the endangered teen. She told the investigator that Alicia had made it to Kennesaw, Georgia where she was staying at a residence. Kennesaw Police went to the address and found Alicia and a male subject in his 20s. Alicia was then taken into protective custody. Kennesaw Police are conducting an investigation to see if any other criminal offenses were committed. According to police, the extensive coverage by media and social media was a major factor in finding Alicia.

Amarillo Police Department is asking for help in locating a missing and endangered teenager.

15-year-old Alicia "Lele" Velasquez was last seen Feb. 14, 2013 leaving AACAL on a school bus going to Tascosa High School.

According to police, Velasquez has been in contact with individuals in other states through social media sites. It is believed that her movement is being restricted.

APD said, Velasquez does not have a history of this bahavior similar to this.

Further investigation has also caused investigators to believe that Velasquez is in danger. She is listed as "Endangered Missing" through NCIC/TCIC.
