TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Authorities in northeast Oklahoma are trying to figure out who tied a dog to a vehicle and dragged it to death this weekend.
Rogers County Sheriff Scott Walton told the Tulsa World (http://bit.ly/PV9ytG ) someone tied the Labrador retriever's legs with wire and dragged her with a vehicle for a little more than a mile before stopping on Saturday.
Walton says there was a trail of "flesh and fur" left behind on a road in Winganon, Okla.
The dog's owner, Melony Patton, says she was shocked that someone would savagely kill her 2-year-old dog named Jetta.
She says Jetta gave birth to nine puppies a month ago and didn't have a history of violence.
A $4,500 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
