'The Dark Knight Rises' brings out the Batman in fans

More than 2,000 Batman fans flocked to the United Artists Amarillo Star 14 Theater Thursday night awaiting the midnight showing of 'The Dark Knight Rises'.

The movie is the third and final segment of the Dark Knight trilogy.  'The Dark Knight Rises' earned $27 million from its midnight screenings across the country.  The movie's prequel, 'The Dark Knight', holds the number one spot for the highest-grossing opening 2-D film.

Fans of all ages donned Batman gear from t-shirts and masks to shoes and suits as they waited in line for hours, hoping for the best seats in the house.
