New Mexico Police arrested a teen for the murder of two in Tucumcari.

Teen arrested in Tucumcari double homicide.

New Mexico State Police responded to shots fired at a home in Tucumcari and found two victims in the home.

Officers arrived at 4407 Quay Road 63 and discovered the bodies of Sue Day, 67, and Sherry Folts, 49 both of Tucumcari, inside the home.

Police arrested identified suspect Tony Day, 14, as the suspect in the double murder at the scene.

Day is charged with 2 counts of murder and is incarcerated at the Quay County Juvenile Detention Center.

Investigators say that during an interview about the incident, Day indicated that he stabbed Folts and shot Sue Day.

The Investigation Bureau of the NMSP are continuing the investigation.
