AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The average gas price in Amarillo is down a nickel in the last week, according to AAA Texas' weekly survey.
Amarillo's average price was listed at $3.15 per gallon. That's down from last week's average of $3.20 per gallon.
AAA Texas said Amarillo had the most expensive gasoline in the state.
Although Amarillo's average was $3.15 per gallon, gas station at some locations reported gas at below $3.00 per gallon this week.
Compared to a month ago, gas prices in Amarillo were down 11 cents. One year ago, the average price for gas in Amarillo was $3.10 per gallon.
The least expensive gasoline in Texas can be found in Fort Worth at $3.03 per gallon, according to AAA Texas.
As an average, Texas' gasoline prices were at $3.09 per gallon. The national average decreased eight cents to $3.30 per gallon.
AAA Texas said the decrease in prices is because of lower crude oil prices and a decreasing demand for gasoline in the U.S.
