AMARILLO, TEXAS -- On Dec. 24, 2012 Amarillo Police responded to a robbery call at the Holiday Inn at 601 Hollywood Road.
A female employee was working at the time of the robbery. She told police that a man entered the lobby, asked for a room rate, went to the gift shop and then asked about the room rate again. After he received the information a second time, the man started walking away and then turned around with a handgun and demanded money from the employee.
She opened the register and gave the man the money inside. The man left after taking the money.
APD investigators thought the suspect was the same person responsible for robbing another Amarillo Hotel which resulted in the arrest of William Shawn Parker on Jan. 9, 2013.
Parker was linked to the case and identified as the robber in a photographic lineup.
Randall County District Attorney's Office accepted Parker's charge of aggravated robbery. Paker was already in custody in the Potter County Detention Center for the robbery of the first hotel on Dec. 20, 2012.
