AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The Make-A-Wish Car Show is back helping to raise funds for a good cause.

Hundreds of people showed up to enjoy the event hosted by the Panhandle Council of Car Clubs. The two-day car show featured a wide variety of vehicles ranging from different models, shapes and sizes.

"It's the kick off to the season," said Barry Henson. "We all look forward to this one so we can start getting our cars out."

But the car show isn't just for spectators and car junkies. The funds help children in need through the Make-A-Wish foundation.

The Make-A-Wish foundation grants wishes for children that have life threatening illnesses. Development Officer, Missy Macon states that the Amarillo community has been great supporting the cause.

"It is important for our community to support these kids and we appreciate all the support they always give us," said Macon. "They really do stand behind us and come out and support us."
