PORTALES, N.M. -- Pepe is missing!
The $1,000 mascot for Papa Murphy's Take and Bake Pizza in Portales was stolen last Thursday night from Greyhound Arena.
Restaurant co-owner Oma Jones said it happened sometime between the Eastern New Mexico University's women's and men's games against Texas A&M Kingsville.
Jones said someone opened the bag and stole the suit, leaving behind Pepe's gloves and feet, along with some distraught fans.
"I had a field trip come through the next day and had to tell the kids that they couldn't see Pepe." Jones said.
So far there are no leads, but Jones said they are offering a $200 reward for Pepe's safe return.
