CLOVIS, N.M. -- A 34-year-old man was arrested and charged on Wednesday with multiple drug charges after police conducted a search in central Clovis.

Sergio James, 34, was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Traffic Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Possession of Stolen Property and Resisting, Evading or Obstructing an Officer.

According to the Clovis Police Department, officers served a search warrant in a home in the 800 block of North Connelly Street on Wednesday. The search warrant followed an investigation from the police department.

Officers from the Curry County Sheriff's Office and Agents assigned to the Region V Drug Task Force conducted the search.

During the search, authorities said they found more than $4,000 in cash divided into bundles of $100. Police said this is consistent with identifying money to track sales and profit in drug trafficking enterprises.

Also found in the search was cocaine, marijuana, prescription medications not prescribed to the person found in possession and stolen property, police said.

Another person, not identified, was also cited, police said.

Police said the investigation is continuing.
